Alice M. Warchol

Alice M. Warchol, 97, of Stafford Springs, CT passed away on Friday, February 25, 2022 at Bride Brook Health and Rehabilitation Center in Niantic, CT. She was born in Stafford Springs to the late John E. and Agnes (Pallanck) Miller on January 1, 1925 at Johnson Memorial Hospital. Alice graduated from St. Bernard Catholic School in Rockville, CT and Stafford High School, where she played basketball on the women’s team. She then attended and graduated from the Schultz Hair Dressing Academy, beginning her long career as a hair stylist, then opened her own business as “Alice’s Beauty Salon” in Stafford Springs. Alice then went on to work at G. Fox & Company in Hartford, CT, retiring as a credit analyst. She was married to the late Bruno J. Warchol and had two sons, Dennis and Darryl Warchol. Alice liked to spend her time traveling to her home in Venice, FL where she spent the winter months. She also liked square dancing and polka, attending many events with her beloved husband Bruno. She also enjoyed braiding rugs, shopping, reading, sightseeing, eating out and spending time with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Edward Parish in Stafford, the American Legion, the Army/Navy Club in Manchester, Elk’s Club of Venice, FL, was a supporter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Association of Marion Father in Stockbridge, MA, and the Connecticut Humane Society. Alice is survived by her son, Darryl Warchol and his wife Linda; her grandchildren, Ethan Warchol, Sarah Warchol, Tiffany Lenz and her husband John, and Derek Warchol and his wife Heather; many great grandchildren; her sister, Evelyn Moriconi; and her nieces and nephews, Laura McCormick and her husband Michael, Gloria Kimball and her husband John, Debbie Thompson, Michael Thompson and his wife Ruth, David Miller, and Barbara Rudnanske. She was predeceased by her son, Dennis Warchol. A calling hour will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. with a funeral service beginning at 11 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
