Antonio (Tony) Jorge, 56, passed peacefully at his Stafford Springs, CT home, surrounded by family, May 6, 2021. Son of Eurico Andrade Jorge (deceased) and Dulce (Freitas) Jorge, he was born on December 1, 1964 in Vila Pouca de Aguiar, Portugal. The family immigrated to the United States in 1967, where they settled in Ludlow, Mass. Tony graduated from Ludlow High School in 1982 and studied business and information technology project management at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and earned a PMP certification from Villanova University. He married Deborah (Deb) Boulier of Chicopee, Mass. in 1988. They made Ludlow and then Belchertown, MA home for more than two decades prior to relocating to Stafford Springs, CT to prepare for lake-life in retirement. An avid angler and loyal member of the Lip Rippers fishing club, Tony enjoyed bass fishing and boating. Country rides on his classic Triumph motorcycle and annual visits to St. Maarten were a couple of his favorite activities. He was a Boston Bruins fan who never missed a game with a good beer in-hand. He loved music, an appreciation he passed down to his sons Nicholas, 32, and Jonathan, 29, and grandchildren Mikhail, 6, and Cadence “Pancakes,” 3. Tony is remembered as a good man who sacrificed often to help others. Kind, caring and giving, his heart and home were always open to anyone in need. He welcomed stray dogs and wayward teenagers alike countless times. With a patient and welcome ear, he listened carefully and readily dispensed guidance, often with a healthy dose of humor, which he maintained through the last moments of his life. A bright, quick and eager learner, there was nothing Tony couldn’t master after watching a video or reading a book. He studied for several life and health insurance licenses the day of the exam in the testing facility parking lot, including the FINRA Series 6 & 63, which he passed on first attempts. He had a long career within the financial services industry starting as an insurance agent with Prudential transitioning into business analysis, project management and executive leadershiproles with The Phoenix, MassMutual, Lincoln Financial and The Hartford. Tony is survived by his wife Deb; sons Nicholas and Jonathan; grandchildren Mikhail and Cadence; mother Dulce; brother Fernando, sister-in-law Maria (Manuela), nephew Alexander and niece Andrea; sister Judy Jorge-Leonard, brother-in-law Brian Leonard and nephew Joseph;and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
