Thomas Young,

Thomas E. "Tiny" Young, Jr., 53, of Stafford Springs passed away on Thursday, March 23, 2006 at St. Francis Hospital, Hartford, after a courageous battle with cancer. Tom was born and raised in Stafford Springs. He was a graduate of St. Edward School, Stafford High School, and the University of Connecticut. He owned and operated Stafford Ace Hardware following in the footsteps of his father, Thomas Young, Sr., who preceded him in 2002. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Diane (DePellegrini) Young of Stafford Springs; his loving mother, Mary Young of Daytona Beach, Florida, and his caring family; sister Nancy and her husband Bruce Fenn, and his nephew Jeffrey Rec all of Cromwell; his special aunt Shirley Pappas of Enfield; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Dolores DePellegrini; his sister-in-law and brother in-law, Donna and Jack Watkinson; his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dino and Chris DePellegrini, all of Stafford Springs; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Debbie and Shaun Kennedy of Willington. "Uncle Tommy" doted on his young nieces and nephews, Megan and Devon Watkinson, Dominic, Francesca and Vinny DePellegrini and Jordan and Jenna Kennedy who will miss his patient, gentle manner. Tiny also leaves behind many special family members and endearing friends, Mark, Eric, Bill, Beth, Donna, Allan, Mike, Paul, Billy, and Frank, and especially his childhood friend Tom Stachelsky and his wife Norma. The family would like to thank the compassionate staff of St. Frances Hospital, Dr. Bilgrami and his cancer care nurse Lynn Sperini. They would also like to thank Fr. Richard Forcier of Saint Edward Parish and Fr. Ray Introvigne for their spiritual guidance. A celebration of Tom's life will be held in the form of a memorial Mass at St. Edward Church, High Street, Stafford Springs, on Saturday, March 25, 2006 at 1 P.M. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Tom's name may be made to the Saint Francis/Mt.
