James A. Cooley, 58, of Ellington, CT, beloved husband of Jessica Fisher, passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021. He was born in Springfield, MA to Constance (Cray) Cooley and the late Robert Cooley. Jim was a 1985 graduate of Western New England College, and worked as a team lead and contracting officer, USPS, Northern Facilities Construction CMT. Jim enjoyed cruising with his wife Jessica where they were able to visit countless Caribbean islands and countries in Europe together. Jim was fond of wildlife of all kinds and had the pleasure of playing with seals, baby tigers, kangaroos and all sorts of exotic animals. Jim was a 3 sport star at Minnechaug HS (football, basketball, shot put). He started his collegiate career playing football at UMaine before transferring to WNEC. Jim was a well-liked, constant figure around Springfield Men’s Basketball leagues after college. He enjoyed reading, movies and was a kind, honest, thoughtful, generous man that was tough when the situation required. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two siblings, Thomas Cooley and his wife Wendy, and Susan Cooley King; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Cooley. Calling hours will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be held privately.
