Jean S. Hartenstein

With family by her side, Jean S. Hartenstein, passed peacefully to be with her lord on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Elmer F. Hartenstein, Jr., earlier in the day. She is survived by her daughter, Jill D. Carlson and her husband Robert Carlson, son, Tracy Hartenstein, and grandsons, Tucker Carlson and Garrett Carlson. Also surviving Jean are her brother, Seth E. Schofield and his wife Diane H. Schofield. She was predeceased by her brother, Seth H. Schofield. Jean had many nieces and nephews, along with a lifelong friend, Pauline Valery. Jean had a full and active life. She was a lifelong resident of Staffordville, CT. She worked in the medical field at a doctor’s office in West Hartford, CT, for many years. She also enjoyed Tuesday night sewing circle with the girls. After she retired, she loved to travel with her husband, family and friends. Jean also loved to listen to country music, enjoyed watching and feeding the birds that where always around the house, or just being with the people she loved. Her grandchildren were the light of her life. Services will be held privately.
