Adeline Mattarelli's Obituary
Adeline (Zagraniczna) Mattarelli, 98, of Sturbridge, MA passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2025 at Hartford Hospital. She was born in Palmer, MA, the daughter of the late Albert and Julia (Chichon) Zagraniczna. She was predeceased by her loving husband Henry Mattarelli, and her sisters, Evelyn Andre, Marie Turner, and Nellie Cote. She leaves behind three nephews, Ernie Andre (Laurie), Donald Andre (Judy), and Bill Cote, a sister-in-law, Ann Rosi, and close friends, Ernie and Linda Richardson. She is grateful for all the visits from her Notre Dame of St. John Paul II parish family, who came to visit or bring her communion during her homebound stay. Also, grateful to her neighbors, Barbara and Mike Livernois, and Ray Beaupre, who helped in many ways. Her first job was at G. Fox and Company. She loved it and stayed until retirement. She lit up telling tales of Beatrice Fox Auerbach, the president and director of G. Fox & Co. She was able to stay at home with 24-hour care with the help of Better Place, Better Life. Her next journey is to meet up with her beloved Henry. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Memorial donations may be made to Sturbridge Fire Benefit Association, 346 Main St., Sturbridge, MA 01566.
