Our deepest sympathies to Carol & family and to my Uncle Al's daughter Karen. We lost a great man but I know he will be watching over everyone while he keeps my Mom & Dad company in Heaven. Too many memories to list here - but suffice it to say that he was such a special person & touched so many people during his life that there will be a great void here on earth that will be difficult to fill. I will especially miss his smiling face, loving manner, his terms of endearments and his very entertaining stories! Love you lots Uncle Al & we will miss you dearly!!! Love, Renee & Terry Britner
I had a special relationship with my uncle and i'll miss him greatly in many ways but I just want to thank everyone who took care of my uncle and to all of you who treated me like family and to my cousin Karen who was like a sister to me, i'll cherrish for ever the moments we shared together. Take care and may GOD bless you all and again THANK YOU
My deepest condolences go out to Carol and Uncle Al's family. He was such a great and funny man and I will miss him dearly. Ever since I was a little kid, we would know that Uncle Al was coming when his VW van came rolling into the driveway! I also love that in this picture he has on his hat because that is also something I remember about him from when I was little. Uncle Al always reminded me so much of my Grandpa and I'm glad that they're together again in heaven.
Kathy and I are very saddened to lose yet another WWII veteran who serve his country with honor and dignity. Al was a dear neighbor who was there the moment we broke ground with our home taking progressive pictures along the way. We truly enjoyed his stories about the war, travel, and family. The most memorable story I can distinctly recall was when he was onboard his destroyer escorting the Missouri when the Emporer of Japan surrendered to the US. He told of watching the Emporer walk the gangway to the ceremonial signing table. The Emporer looked at Al and Al stuck his tongue out at him. I can see him doing that.
We will miss his 8 bells, all is well. While deer hunting in the area, I would count on that ringing to let me know it was time to come out of the woods. If I didn't hear it, I would call him up and want to know why.
Our thoughts and prayers are heartfeltly sent to Carol and the families of Al and Carol.
I will always cerish the time we spent visiting.
Paul and Kathy
Sincere sympathy to Karen and Carol and the whole family. Al will be remembered as a great family friend. He was like an uncle to the Henault family. We shared so many good times and we always enjoyed getting to gather. He is a true friend. He was a very lucky man to have you all around him. Love Theresa and family
ALWAYS enjoyed talking with Al when he was at Ken & Renee's home, enjoyed hearing his memories of serving in the military and of Moosup, my home town! He will be missed. So glad Ken & Renee were able to make some memories with him over the past year, taking extra time to visit and do some of his "bucket list" items. Praying for the family.
I cherish many memories going to the house in Tolland Ct. The camping, the tree house, and lets not forget the St Bernards especially (Sunshine)and all the puppies. You and Auntie were always so special to all of us, I wish we could go back to those days. Rest in Peace Uncle. Will miss you. Love your niece Deb.
Ken, sorry to hear about the passing of your stepdad.
