Alice Lambert's Obituary
Alice B. Lambert, 100, died peacefully in her sleep at the home of her granddaughter Carole and Joseph Richard, Tuesday morning, April 25, 2006. She was born in Leominster, MA, December 16, 1905, the daughter of the late John L. and Rose (Mohan) Cavanaugh. Alice was the quiet and loving person behind so many accomplishments. During the Second World War, she worked as a timekeeper at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. In retirement, she was a trusted and caring caregiver for several elderly persons. Alice was a member of St. Edward Parish in Stafford Springs, CT, and an 80 year member of Court Isabella No. 785 Catholic Daughters of America, Stafford Springs, CT. She held several offices and served on numerous committees. She was a Junior Catholic Daughter Leader and remembered as "a mother away from home," for yearly camping adventures to Lake George. During her early retirement years, she traveled the world: Ireland, England, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and Western Europe. She did what no other person but Alice Lambert was able to accomplish on her own. Alice is survived by her devoted son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Jeannette Lambert, with whom she lived for many years, of Monson, MA; and her treasured five grandchildren, Michel of Green Bay, WI, Donna Picard and David Ferreira of Naperville, IL, Jean Paul and his wife Beth of Norfolk, VA, Marie and her husband Christopher Haley of Monson, MA, and Carole and her husband Joseph Richard of Belchertown, MA. She also leaves eight cherished great grandchildren, Daniel and Shannon Haley, Joseph, Jr., Sarah, and Jenna Richard, Jean Paul, Jr. and Jacob Lambert, and Cassandra and her husband Adeel Khan. She is also survived by her nephew Robert and his wife Linda, and nieces Candace and Linda. Alice was predeceased by her devoted husband, Raymond in March of 1969, a brother, John Cavanaugh and his wife Prudence, sisters Barbara DeCoteau and her husband Thomas, and Ruth Fall and her husband Vincent. A funeral will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2006, with a procession forming at 1 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 P.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Spring, CT. Family and friends will remember Alice at visiting hours on Friday, April 28, 2006 from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
