Allan P. Davis' Obituary
Allan P. Davis, 85, of Enfield, CT, husband of the late Claire (Avery) Davis, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Windsor, VT, son of the late Perley and Henrietta (Phillips) Davis. Allan served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He played baseball while in the Army, then in AAA, and then was drafted by the Milwaukee Braves. He worked for Boston and Maine Railroad as a locomotive engineer until retirement. Allan was also a barber, working at the Olde Towne Barber Shop in Enfield, and at several local nursing homes. He had many hobbies and always kept busy. Some of his favorites were the beach, fishing, bicycle riding, flying remote control planes, working out at the gym, spending the winter in Florida, and HAM radios, just to name a few. He was also an active member of the Stafford Senior Center. Allan is survived by his two children, Jeffrey Davis and Victoria Gosselin, and Linda Arietti and her husband Peter; two grandsons, Joseph Arietti and Jeffrey Davis, Jr.; his companion, Augusta “Gussie” Barsaleau; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson, Paul Arietti; and brother, Everett Davis. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 5-8 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Funeral services and burial in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT, will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stafford Senior Center, 3 Buckley Highway, Stafford Springs, CT 06076.
