I was sorry to hear of Allen's passing. When he lived across the street from us he would often plow our driveway. This meant a lot because then I didn't have to shovel it! My mom would make him brownies, because he wouldn't take any money. He was also very sweet to my sister Chrissie, who would sometimes wander over there to visit. As First Selectman, he was instrumental in helping me keep my part-time job for the town when others tried to cut my position. He become a Republican later in life, but he also would honor Democrats like "Pop" Frassinelli (my grandfather) and the many contributions he made to Stafford. All these examples display a man who understood what the word "neighbor" really means. Rest in peace, Allen.
