Amelia P. Gavine's Obituary
Amelia (Palacko) Gavine, 98, of Stafford Springs, CT, wife of the late William D. Gavine, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 31, 2023. She was born on December 17, 1925, the ninth of ten children to the late George, Jr. and Susan (Pallo) Palacko. Millie worked at Cyril Johnson Mill for over 40 years as a finisher. She enjoyed trips to Cape Cod, and watching birds, UConn basketball, and the Boston Red Sox. After retirement, she and Bill spent time traveling the United States. Millie was an especially caring, giving person, and had a special bond with her children and grandchildren. She was always the life of family parties! She will be missed. Millie leaves behind her daughter, Linda Niderno and her husband David; son, Thomas Gavine; daughter-in-law, Jean Palacko; granddaughters, Julie Elak and her husband Kevin, Jennifer Palacko, Emma Niderno, and Lydia Niderno; great grandchildren, Miranda, Alex, and Justin; her best friend, Evelyn Furness; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Richard Palacko; and her nine siblings. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 9:00-10:00 AM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.
