Andrew Fortuna, Jr.'s Obituary
Andrew Fortuna, Jr., 82, of Stafford Springs, CT, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, died on January 25, 2016. Andrew was born on April 3, 1933 in Rockville, CT to the late Andrew and Mary (Rosinski) Fortuna. He attended St. Joseph’s and the Rockville school system and served in the Army during the Korean War being discharged as a Corporal. He met his wife Joan (Sabourin) Fortuna at the Crystal Lake ballroom and moved to Stafford where he lived the rest of his life. He worked at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in the Engineering department for over 37 years prior to his retirement. Andy was an usher at St. Edward Church in Stafford Springs for many years, an avid UCONN basketball fan, and had a great love of Cape Cod. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 54 years, Joan, who passed in 2012. He is survived by his three children, Carolyn Fortuna and her husband Stephen Hanley of Chepachet, R.I., Thomas Fortuna and his wife Lora of Stafford, CT, and Steven Fortuna of Newburyport, MA, as well as his grandchildren Ashley (Fortuna) Lewis and her husband Kyle, and Ethan Fortuna, both of Stafford, CT. In addition, he leaves his great-grandchild, Sean Lewis of Stafford. The family would like to express their thanks to Dr. Parikh and the staff at Evergreen Health Care Sub-Acute Unit for their wonderful care. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2016 from 9 – 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT.
