Andrew J. Oliver's Obituary
Andrew James Oliver, 28, of Newmarket, New Hampshire, passed away on Sunday, November 27, 2022. Andrew was born on February 13th, 1994, to Tommy and Katie Oliver in Spartanburg, South Carolina. He spent his childhood and teenage years in New Hampshire, where he excelled as a high school baseball player. His passion for baseball continued through the years, rivaled only by his love for college football and basketball. The New York Yankees and N.C. State have lost a great fan. Most recently, Andrew found great joy in spending time outdoors with friends and family and fishing in the peaceful ‘Quiet Corner’ of Northeastern Connecticut. His easy-going and fun-loving nature ensured that he never met a stranger. He was quick to laugh, to share a joke, and to make friendly conversation with any and everybody. His love for his nieces and nephews was evident to anyone who saw him talk about or interact with them. Always ready to play a round of Spoons, share a snack, or watch slapstick videos, Uncle Andrew was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by Madison, James, Marybeth, Luke, Hannah, Clara, Nora, Jonah, Magnolia, and Georgie. Andrew had a habit of thanking God for ‘another day that wasn’t promised or guaranteed.’ His family is grateful for so many of those days with Andrew. While they grieve this great loss of his earthly presence, they are grateful he is now free from the heaviness of this world and alive in the presence of Christ. Andrew is survived by parents Tommy and Katie Oliver, siblings Nathan (Tracey) Oliver, Abbie (Nick) Tolley, Rachel (John) Halsey, Elizabeth (Vincent) Gu, Sarah Oliver, and 10 nieces and nephews. Services will be held at The Federated Church of Willington, 132 River Rd., Willington, CT, on Monday, December 5, 2022 at 3:00 in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to His Oaks Recovery Ministry, 147 Union Rd. Eastford, CT 06242, an organization Andrew was deeply grateful for and passionate about. His family hopes these contributions might help in the restoration and recovery of other people battling addictions. “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.”
-1 Thessalonians 4:13–14
