Andrew J. Tremko's Obituary
Andrew J. Tremko, 93, of Ashford, CT, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Evergreen Health Care Center. He was born in Ashford, CT, son of the late John, Sr. and Mary (Podracky) Tremko. Andy served in the United States Navy during World War II on the U.S.S Sevier. His ship was involved in the invasion of Iwo Jima and the invasion of Guam. He retired from the State of Connecticut as a painter/tradesman, and was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle Church. Andy is survived by his loving wife, Mary A. (Hopko) Tremko; two children, Terri Nollet and James Tremko; two grandchildren, Kimberly St. Laurent and her husband William, and Curt Nollet and his fiancée Tara; three great granddaughters, Tori, Samantha, and Elena; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sisters, Anna Richwalder and Margaret Pivonka; and brothers, Michael, Peter, George, and John Tremko. His funeral will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Philip the Apostle Church, Pompey Hollow Rd., Ashford, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in St. Philip Cemetery, Ashford, CT. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
