Anita MacPherson's Obituary
Anita R. MacPherson, 87, of Coventry, CT and Port St. Lucie, FL, wife of the late Sterling MacPherson, Jr., passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011 at Mansfield Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation, Mansfield, CT surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Berlin, NH on August 16, 1923, daughter of the late Ernest and Alexandrine (Lemelin) Couture. She was very proud of her French Canadian and Mohawk Native American Heritage. Anita is survived by her five children, Sterling MacPherson III and his wife Linda of Union, CT, Diane Rowley and her husband Jim of Coventry, CT, Karen Anderson and her husband Ron of Windham, CT, Denis MacPherson of Port St. Lucie, FL, and Bonnie Ognan and her husband Mark of Ashford, CT; 11 grandchildren who loved and adored her; 16 great grandchildren who were blessed to have her in their lives; two sisters, Rita Weigold of Florida and Gloria Noheimer of Rockville, CT; brother, Robert Couture of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was truly loved by all who knew her and was the “Sunshine” in our lives. We “Love you Sweet”. Funeral services with burial in Coventry Cemetery, Coventry, CT, will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Charles Home, 19 Grant St., Rochester, NH 03867, or to Tara Farms Animal Rescue, 670 Babcock Hill Rd., Coventry, CT 06238.
