Anne C. Peirolo's Obituary
Anne C. Peirolo, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away peacefully in her home on October 6, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. Anne was born in Brooklyn, NY and throughout her young life she faced many hardships and challenges and grew to have an immeasurable faith and inner strength which she brought to the world with love and a lot of laughter. As a young girl, she moved to Stafford Springs and found her home there. In High School, she met Alfred Peirolo, and their love would last a lifetime. They married in St. Edward Church on February 16, 1957. Together they raised their four children with a childhood Anne could only dream of – family Sunday dinners and holidays at Nerina and Carl's (Alfred's parents), Friday night grocery shopping at the Big Bunny, along with a stop at the National, and yearly family vacations to Hammonasset Beach, camping in a popup trailer. Saturday was date night for Al and Anne and as Anne put on “her face” her children loved sitting on the bed watching her get ready. Anne was a Girl Scout leader for many years. Anne and Al also hosted many picnics at the backyard by the pond. They were very active at Saint Matthews Church and the Marriage Encounter program, making lifelong friends there. Anne worked and retired from the Stafford school system. Once the children moved out, Anne and Al bought a home in Ft. Myers, FL, and spent 20 years enjoying retirement in the Florida sunshine, taking cruises, holiday dances, and socializing with friends. She was a Red Hat member, and Buccaneer cheerleader. Their children enjoyed vacations there and bringing their growing families. Stafford would always be their home and they moved back there in 2016. Anne loved to laugh and would always look at the funny side of life. If there was laughter in the room, you could be sure Anne was in the middle of it. She also enjoyed reading and took it one step further by joining a writing group and writing a book about her life. Anne loved Rum Raisin ice cream, singing Christmas carols, watching UConn Women's basketball, the color green, Chapstick, and Lucy comedies. Anne loved a good joke, a bad joke and even jokes she didn't understand or forgot the punch line! One thing Anne was not good at was cooking, and there are many family stories about her failed attempts and smoke alarms ringing. Anne leaves behind her loving husband of 67years, Alfred Peirolo. Also, four children: Linda and her husband Greg Lanz of Stafford, CT, Annette and her husband Kevin Travis of Clark, WY, Catherine Peirolo and her husband Tim Goodhall of Union, CT, and Michael Peirolo and his husband George Variames of McKinney, TX. She was Nonnie to five beautiful granddaughters that she adored: Stephanie Wooley, Heather McKeon, Kate McCloskey, Lizzy O'Toole, and Sarah Kilgus, along with nine great grandchildren (and one on the way), and two sisters-in-law: Ginger Peirolo and Barbara Peirolo. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Cisek. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Edward Church, 55 High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be private at St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., Stafford Springs, CT, has care of the arrangements.
