Anthony R. LaPointe's Obituary
Anthony R. LaPointe, 63, of Tolland, CT, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021 at St. Vincent’s Hospital. He was born in Rockville, CT, son of the late Joseph and Florence (Dzat) LaPointe. Tony is survived by his three daughters, Amy LaPointe and husband Christian Colli, Amber Flanary and husband Joshua, and Autumn LaPointe; four grandchildren, Rowan, Everett, Elliott and Clara; four siblings, Philip LaPointe and wife Janet, Michael LaPointe and wife Kathy, Anne Marie Brooks and husband John, and David LaPointe; many nieces and nephews; former wife Darlene Barrows Creed and his beloved dog, Piper. Tony was a small-town guy. He lived out his life within 20 miles of the place he was born, and his story is interlaced with the history of the community that he loved. A master of his craft, Tony built or remodeled hundreds of houses, that became homes to countless people, many of them his friends. Then again, most people who had the privilege to meet Tony consider him a friend. He was a great conversationalist—easy to talk to with an indelible smile and a willingness to help others that knew no bounds. He is also remembered for the fun he brought to any occasion he attended, with just a pinch of trouble mixed in for good measure. Whether spending time with friends at The Eagle or crashing a BBQ, if there was good company, good food, and classic rock on the radio, Tony was there, making new friends and dancing like no one was watching. He was a great hunter, a mediocre fisherman, and a lousy singer, but above all else, he was a fantastic dad, who loved his daughters beyond measure, and always made sure that they knew it. They love him back just as fiercely. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 11 AM to 12 PM, with a funeral service beginning at 12 PM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. A celebration of life will immediately follow, with details to be provided at the service. Please bring stories to share, as we celebrate the life of a man who touched so many, so deeply. The family has requested that all in attendance of the services please wear a mask. Burial will be private.
