Anton "Tony" R. Janiak's Obituary
Anton “Tony” Richard Janiak, 80, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on June 30, 2023 at Evergreen Health Care Center after a brief illness with lung cancer. He was born in Willington, CT on October 16, 1942, son of the late William and Alice (Wilson) Janiak. Tony retired from Janiak Manufacturing in South Windham, CT (formerly Giant Vac Manufacturing) where he spent his life manufacturing, prototyping, and selling commercial lawn care and municipal vacuum systems. His interests included playing baseball as a kid, talking politics, working on his lawn and his equipment, story telling, oldies and country music, cookouts with his family, and being with his grandchildren. He was also an active member of the Stafford Senior Center, as well as serving as a Board Member. He enjoyed being a Bingo Caller and loved attending the various activities and dinner shows. Tony is survived by his wife, Cynthia Janiak; sons, Anton R. Janiak, Jr. of Stafford Springs, CT, James Janiak and his wife Johnna of Tolland, CT, and John Janiak and his wife Linda of Naples, FL; grandchildren, Brianna Glidden, Carissa Decelles, and Jeffrey and John Janiak; great grandchildren, Brody, Sarah, Dakota, Ann Marie, and Gianna; brother, Thomas Janiak; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Constance (Carroll) Janiak; grandson, Stephen Janiak; and siblings, Alice Works, Frances Raith, William Janiak, Nancy Arnold, and Mildred Neff. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 9:00-11:00 A.M., with a funeral service to take place at 11:00 A.M., at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Stafford Senior Center, 3 Buckley Highway, Stafford Springs, CT 06076.
