Arthur "Pep" Davis' Obituary
Arthur R. “Pep” Davis, 84, lifelong resident of Willington, CT, beloved husband of the late Aileen (Barry) Davis, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2010. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT on November 1, 1925, the youngest son of the late Willie H. and Jessie T. (Holt) Davis. Pep was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II having proudly served in the 69th Infantry Division. He was employed at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft as a machinist, from where he retired in 1984 after 30 plus years of employment. He was an honorary and lifetime member of the Willington Hill Fire Department, where he served as assistant chief, vice president, and chief engineer. Pep enjoyed his winters in Florida. He loved wood working, John Deere tractors, Fords, and the Boston Red Sox. Pep is survived by his two daughters, Judy Forand and her husband Jim of North Windham, CT, and Joy Chaplin of Willington, CT; three grandchildren, Kim Hopkins and her husband Doug of Tolland, CT, Chris Chaplin and his wife Shawna of Windham, CT, and Melissa Jackopsic and her husband Jon of West Stafford, CT; three great grandsons, Davis and Cooper Jackopsic, and Sawyer Chaplin; and was looking forward to his 4th great grandchild due in August. He also leaves behind his loving sister, Christine Morgan of Sequim, WA; and a special niece, Joyce Hernberg and her husband Allan of Eastford, CT. He was predeceased by four brothers, Harvey, Frank, Oliver, and John; and four sisters, Ruth, Viola, Esther, and Jessie. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 26, 2010 from 6-8 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Funeral services with burial in Willington Hill Cemetery, Willington, CT, will be held privately.
