Bertha M. Hoar's Obituary
Bertha M. Hoar, 94, of Zephyrhills, FL, passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 peacefully with her family. She was born in Holyoke, MA, daughter of the late Victor and Marie Ann MacDonald. She retired in 1986 from Champion Packaging in Chicopee, MA. Bertha moved to Florida in 2004. She enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, and Korean movies. She also loved their family dog, Bella. Bertha is survived by her two children, Thomas Hoar and his wife Cindy, and Peggy Stark. She is also survived by her daughter in-law, Donna Hoar. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Ann Prendergast, her son William Hoar, and also her ten siblings. She leaves behind seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Bertha was a strong woman and overcame many challenges early on in her life. She has touched the lives of so many people and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Funeral services and burial will be at St. Rose Cemetery in South Hadley, MA, and will be held privately. Due to Bertha's love of all animals, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to PawSafe Animal Rescue, 110 Sandy Beach Rd, Ellington, CT 06029.
