Birney E. Griffith's Obituary
Birney E. Griffith, 83, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. He was born in Montpelier, VT, son of the late Merrill and Barbara (Boucher) Griffith. Birney retired as a civil engineer from the State of Connecticut Department of Transportation. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, New York Giants, and UConn women’s basketball. Birney enjoyed being busy, fishing, camping at Water’s Edge Campground in Lebanon, CT for over 27 years, and visiting family in Florida. Above all, he was a family man and was always in attendance at his grandchildren’s sporting events. Birney is survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Marlene (Kivney) Griffith; children, Mark Griffith and his wife Beverly, Lori Martins and her husband Jose, Brian Griffith and his wife Rebeca, Raymond Missell and his partner Lisa Loiacano, James Missell and his partner Nadine McGowan, and Michael Missell and his wife Danielle; grandchildren, Jessica (Tanner), Ryan (Nancy) Angela (Kevin), Rebecca, Olivia, Alyssa (Nate) Landon, Eden (Oren), Saylee, and James; and great grandchildren, Lucas, Sadie, Nina, Kyler, Valentina, and Savannah. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert Griffith. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 10:00-11:00 A.M., with a funeral service to take place at 11:00 A.M., at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
