Bonnie Frysinger Brown's Obituary
Bonnie Frysinger Brown, 92, longtime resident of West Shore Road in Ellington, died Sunday, September 10, 2017 at Brookdale at Buckingham Assisted Living in Glastonbury. She was born in Celina Ohio, daughter of the late Lewis and Florence Frysinger and grew up on their family farm. She attended the University of Michigan where she met her future husband. Bonnie had a 35 year professional career and retired as the Credit Manager at Rockville General Hospital. Bonnie believed keenly in giving back to the community and helping those less fortunate than herself. She moved to Crystal Lake in Ellington in 1956 and joined the Community United Methodist Church where she was a member for over 55 years. She was a long standing trustee of the Church, a Sunday school teacher and a member of the Ladies Aid. Bonnie volunteered at countless rummage sales, bake sales and auctions raising money for the Church. Later in life, as others were slowing down, she founded a food pantry at the church because there was a need and it was the right thing to do. She ran the pantry into her 80’s as well as giving time to the hospital auxiliary. She served a term as the Treasurer at the Crystal Lake Historical Society and was an officer in the local PTA while her children attended the Crystal Lake School. A loving mother, Bonnie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Karen Brown of Greenville NC, Alan L. and Janice Brown of Wickford RI, Jeffrey N. Brown and Virginia Gascon of Glastonbury, Bruce M. and Amy Brown of Ellington, and Donald S. and Laura Brown of Stafford Springs; seven grandchildren, Nathaniel, Alan, Theresa, James, Kathryn, Ian and McGuire; and five great grandchildren Shaun, Emily, Megan, Charlotte and Madelyn. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Robert G. W. Brown; two sons, David G.W. Brown and Daniel G.W. Brown; and her siblings, Sister Jean Frysinger, Betty Huss and John Frysinger. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 12:00 to 2:00 PM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Memorial services and burial at the West-Cushman Cemetery, Stafford Springs, will be private. Memorial donations may be made to the United Methodist Church of Crystal Lake, 278 Sandy Beach Rd., Crystal Lake, Ct. 06029.
