Bruce E. Ladr's Obituary
Bruce Edward Ladr, 71, beloved husband of Kathleen (Knight) Ladr, passed away suddenly on April 5, 2025. He was born in Stafford on April 12, 1953 to the late Edward and Orianna (Hathaway) Ladr. He grew up in Stafford and was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Stafford High School (Class of 1971). He then attended Manchester Community College and ESCU. Bruce worked for Stanadyne for 30 years before moving on to Covidien, and finally ending his career as a mail courier for the Stafford Public Schools. He was a proud member of the Second Congregational Church of Stafford at West Stafford for most of his life, where he served on every board and committee and choir. He loved to sing. Bruce coached baseball and soccer for his son’s youth sports leagues. He was also a member of the West Stafford Cemetery Committee. He loved playing golf with his children, grandchildren, and friends. His biggest passion was his family and cheering on every single grandchild’s activities. He never missed one.
Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Kathleen (Knight) Ladr; his daughter and son-in-law, Kristina (Ladr) and Shawn Depault of Stafford; and his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Ashley (Morgan) Ladr of Ellington. He also leaves behind 8 grandchildren, Aidan Ladr, William Depault, Alexander Ladr, Aaron Ladr, Benjamin Depault, Noah Ladr, Hannah Ladr and Ethan Ladr. He also leaves his brother, Dean Ladr and Kathi Fisher of Brimfield; his sister, Beth (Ladr) Bolieau and Glenn of Stafford; his sister-in-law, Karen Barton and David; and his brother-in-law, George Knight and Marcy.
A visitation will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, with a memorial service beginning at 2:00 PM at the Second Congregational Church of Stafford at West Stafford, 197 West Stafford Rd., Stafford Springs, CT 06076. Burial will follow the service at West Stafford Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Church.
