C. Nina Murphy, 71, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011 at Manchester Memorial Hospital, Manchester, CT. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late George and Nellie (Campo) Mason. She attended local schools and the University of Connecticut. Nina had worked in patient registration at the Johnson Surgical Center in Enfield, CT for many years. She was a member of St. Edward Parish, and an enthusiastic fan of the UCONN women’s basketball team. She enjoyed knitting, baking, traveling, and shopping for the perfect pair of shoes. Most of all, she loved people. Her cheerful disposition and caring heart earned her friends wherever she went. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, Nona, and friend. Nina is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, William E. Murphy; a son, Sean E. Murphy and his wife Dawn, and their two children Ryan and Megan, of Parrish, FL; a daughter, Heather L. Murphy and her two sons Tyler and Andrew Carlson, of Enfield, CT; and a sister, Georgiana Hanselmann and her husband Kurt, of Switzerland. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, May 19, 2011, with a procession forming by 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
