Carl H. Simmons' Obituary
Carl H. Simmons, born on January 20, 1955, in Providence, Rhode Island, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by love, with his devoted companion, Sharlene Jones, by his side. Carl was a retired truck driver and proud member of the New England Teamsters. His passion for cars and trucks was evident to all who knew him. With an easygoing nature and a gift for conversation, Carl had the remarkable ability to connect with people everywhere he went, leaving behind countless friendships and cherished memories. He is survived by his children: Eric Desjardin and his significant other Missy Renaud; Jamie Simmons; and Stephanie Zonfrilli. Carl’s legacy also lives on through his grandchildren: William Simmons, Breana Simmons, Dylan Simmons, Kiara Simmons, Deja Zonfrilli, Bobby Fuller and Dasha Fuller; as well as his great-grandchildren Amalia and Amari George. Additionally, he leaves behind his bonus family: Aaron and Amy Harakaly; Kaly Jones and Colin Whiston and Loxley, and a host of dear friends. Carl was predeceased by his parents Ada Keene Simmons and Joseph E. Simmons Sr., as well as his beloved brother Joseph Simmons Jr. Carl’s warmth, humor, and ability to bring people together will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory bring comfort to those who loved him.
