Carl Simons' Obituary
Carl L. Simons, 85, of New City Rd., Stafford Springs, CT, beloved husband of the late Anna R. (Cheman) Simons, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at his home. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Thomas and Gertrude (Whitney) Simons. Carl was proud to have served as a decorated veteran of the U.S. Army 84th Infantry Division during World War II and the Battle of the Bulge. He worked as a carpenter for Moulton Brothers Builders for many years, and was also a lifelong farmer and horse draft enthusiast. Carl was a member of the Staffordville Congregational Church and the Eastern Draft Horse Association. He also enjoyed making maple syrup and selling it locally. Carl is survived by his three sons, Thomas Simons and his wife Brenda, Timothy Simons, and Terry Simons and his wife Christina, all of Stafford Springs, CT; six grandchildren, Stoney and Corey Simons, Anna Simons, Levi Smith, and Colton and Kaitlyn Simons; a great granddaughter, Anya; a sister, Eleanor Fantoli; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Wayne Simons; and a brother, Ernest Whitney. A calling hour will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2009 from 9-10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT.
