Carrington M. Stanford Jr.'s Obituary
Carrington M. Stanford, Jr., 83, of Willington, CT, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2014. He was born in London, England son of the late Carrington M. Stanford, Sr. and Dorrit (Moseley) Stanford. Carrington worked as a machinist in manufacturing for most of his life. He was the owner/operator of C.M. Stanford egg farm, delivering eggs locally for many years. He was also an active member of the Willington Baptist Church. Carrington took great pride in his gardening. He additionally was a member of the National Riffle Association, and the Metropolitan Pistol League where he shot competitively for many years. He was involved in several local pool leagues, and was an avid fan of the UCONN Huskies and Boston Red Sox. Carrington is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joan (Carroll) Stanford; five children, Carrington M. Stanford and his wife Valerie of Clinton, ME, Kathy Carey of Weatogue, CT, Lori Stanford of Tolland, CT, Jon Stanford and his wife Nancy of Willington, CT, and Dodi Nicholson and her husband Tim of Stafford Springs, CT; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sister, Jane Clark of California; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, William Stanford. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 10 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Monday from 4-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
