Carroll Cooley's Obituary
Carroll D. Cooley, 86, of Stafford Springs, CT, husband of the late Barbara E. (Spencer) Cooley, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2013 at Parkway Pavilion. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Roy and Ruth (Crane) Cooley. Carroll was briefly a Merchant Marine, and then he served in the U.S. Army 307th Airborne during World War II. He retired from AMF CUNO as a maintenance worker. Carroll was a member of the Masons Ionic Lodge No. 110, A.F. & A.M. of North Windham, and Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 of Stafford. He enjoyed traveling the country with his wife on motorcycle, bringing back many stories from the people they talked to along the way. Carroll is survived by his four children, Carroll "Buck" Cooley and his wife Ronalyn of Enfield, CT, David Cooley and his wife Barbara of Tolland, CT, Walter Cooley of Enfield, CT, and Linda Rowe and her husband John, Jr. of Stafford Springs, CT; four grandchildren, Meghan Gagnon, Caitlin Cooley, John Rowe III, and Chris Rowe; great grandson, Ian Reiprich; uncle, Ralph Crane; aunt, Barbara Crane; and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service with Military Honors will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 1 P.M. at West Stafford Cemetery, West Stafford Rd., Stafford Springs, CT.
