Catherine Denadai's Obituary
Catherine DeNadai, 96, of Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late John and Augusta (Segat) DeNadai, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2008. She was born in Vittorio Veneto, Italy on October 15, 1911. Catherine was employed by the former Warren Woolen Company of Stafford. During the 1930s she lived in New York City, where she learned the trade and worked as a corsetiere. Among her clients were the Radio City Rockettes. She later had her own part-time business from her home when she returned to Stafford. Catherine was a communicant of St. Edward Parish, and member of the women's auxiliary of the Italian Benefit Society since 1950 and served three separate terms as president. She was a member since 1974, held several offices, and served two separate terms as president of the Stafford Senior Center. In addition, she volunteered at the Stafford Thrift Shop and Johnson Memorial Hospital's gift shop. She enjoyed baking, sewing, and handicrafts, and shared her hospitality generously with her family and friends. Catherine is survived by her sisters Celia Fadel and Gina Scussel of Stafford Springs, CT, and several nieces and a nephew among whom are Stafford residents, Adreana and Janet Scussel, Beverly DeSantis, and great-niece Linda DeSantis. She was predeceased by a brother, Peter DeNadai. Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 3, 2008 from 9-10:30 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT.
