Charles P. Kraussmann's Obituary
Charles “Chuck” Kraussmann, 71, of Stafford Springs, passed away at home surrounded by family and friends following a lionhearted battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Milford, CT to Katherine D. “Kay” Kenney on March 2, 1953. In 1960, Chuck’s mother, married John F. Kraussmann, who adopted Chuck and was a devoted father to him.
Chuck attended Centerville High School in Ohio graduating in 1971. In 1983, he married Rebecca Stocking of Storrs, Connecticut. Chuck worked many decades in the audio-visual business, working for Audiocrafters in Maryland and Al Franklin’s Musical World and, later, Tweeter in Connecticut and Massachusetts.
Chuck was very blessed to have great friends who meant the world to him. He was a gregarious person who loved sports and especially loved bowling and playing tennis. One of his favorite holidays was the 4th of July when he had an annual barbecue that included beer and lawn games. Chuck will be missed by family, friends, teammates and league members.
Chuck leaves his wife, Becky, daughter Katie (Kraussmann) Houghtaling, granddaughter, Scarlett Houghtaling and former son-in-law Aaron Houghtaling.
His memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial in Stafford Springs Cemetery will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Stafford Fire Department #1, 9 Colburn Rd., Stafford Springs, CT 06076 and/or the West Stafford Fire Department, 144 West Stafford Road, Stafford Springs, CT 06076 .
