Charles Mattesen's Obituary
Charles S. Mattesen, 96, of Elm St., Windsor Locks, CT, and formerly of Stafford Springs, CT, died Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Thomas and Marietta (Morganson) Mattesen. Charles retired as co-owner and operator of Mattesen Service Station. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox and UCONN Basketball. Charles is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Doris (Burdick) Mattesen; a son and daughter-in-law, Russell T. and Eleanor Mattesen, all of Windsor Locks, CT; five grandchildren, Maureen Lisotto and her husband John of Chattanooga, TN, Rusty Mattesen of Windsor Locks, CT, Gary Mattesen and his wife June of Suffield, CT, Sharon Pfaffenbichler and her husband Ken of Windsor Locks, CT, and Tommy Mattesen of Windsor Locks, CT; six great grandchildren, David and Shayla Mattesen, Michelle and Bobby Lisotto, and Timmy and Sarah Pfaffenbichler; a brother, Raymond Mattesen of Stafford Springs, CT; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by eight siblings. A funeral will be held on Friday, June 23, 2006 at 10 A.M. at the Windsor Locks Funeral Home, 441 Spring St., Windsor Locks, CT. Burial will follow in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours will be on Thursday from 5-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
