Clarence W. " Bill" Guiles' Obituary
Clarence W. “Bill” Guiles, 76, of Ashford, CT, passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Windham Hospital. He was born in Norwalk, CT, son of the late Stewart Guiles and Anna (Anderson) Eddy. Bill worked as a pharmacist for most of his life, and prior to that he served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years as a hospital corpsman and retired with the rank of Chief Petty Officer, having served during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Church and the Knights of Columbus Council # 114 of Putnam. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Marie (Genovese) Guiles; four children, David Guiles, Linda Bergeron, Lisa Guiles and her husband TJ Walther, and Christopher Guiles and his wife Yoshiko; five grandchildren, Christine and her husband Michael, Tiffany, Britlyn and her fiancé Jimmy, Branden and his wife Ashley, and Ryan and his wife Laura; five great grandchildren, Christopher, Madalyn, Daniel, Naylyn and Myla; and many cousins from his Anderson family whom he always thought of as his brothers and sisters. A calling hour will be held on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 2-3 P.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 3 P.M. at St. Philip the Apostle Church, 64 Pompey Hollow Rd., Ashford, CT. Burial with military honors will follow at St. Philip Cemetery, Ashford, CT. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O.
