Colin K. Duquette's Obituary
Colin Kenneth Duquette, 31, of Tolland, CT, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 9, 2025. He was born in Rockville, CT, on January 19, 1994. Colin was currently employed by Interstate Electric as an electrician.
Colin will be remembered for his enormous laugh, towering stature and gentleness. Family mattered most to Colin, especially his nephews and the children of his closest friends. He would remember his late grandparents with a soft tenderness and often recounted certain meals and holidays from his childhood. From those cherished family meals blossomed Colin’s joy of cooking and sharing meals with the people he loved.
Colin loved the outdoors and possessed a green thumb. In the evenings Colin would be found in one of his many vegetable and herb gardens surrounding his home. Fishing was also a favorite pastime of Colin’s. He looked forward to night fishing trips on the Connecticut River with his friend, Steve, and in Pulaski, NY, with his father and brother fishing for steelhead and salmon. In addition to gardening and fishing, most of all Colin loved hiking. Many precious memories were made hiking the loop trail around Breakneck Pond in Union, CT.
An avid lover of motorsports, particularly motocross, he dreamed of one day attending a race in Isle of Man, UK. Every August Colin looked forward to attending the Unadilla Motocross Championships with a large group of his family and friends. If there was a race aired on TV you could be sure he would be watching it, and it didn’t matter a lick if it was a three-year-old rerun.
As a master joke teller, he never missed an opportunity to make someone laugh. Some jokes may have been more striking than others, but nonetheless you would laugh until you cried. All would agree that if you were lucky enough to be loved by Colin, you knew it because he loved you completely and fiercely.
Colin is survived by his father, Rick Duquette and his partner Ginny Cyr; brother, Michael Duquette and his wife Kirstie; two nephews, Emmett and Wade; his beloved life partner, Delaney O’Boyle; his dog, Barry, and his loving cats.
Funeral services with burial in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT, will be held privately. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Colin’s life on Sunday, August 24, 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Stafford Fish and Game Club, 52 Rockwell Rd., Stafford Springs, CT.
