Dana Hand's Obituary
Dana R. Hand, 81, of Mooers Forks, NY, beloved husband of the late Mary (Moore) Hand, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2010 at Champlain Valley Physicians Hospital, Plattsburgh, NY. He was born in Ludlow, ME, son of the late John and Myrtle (Gaskin) Hand. Dana retired from Tire Town as a mechanic. He is survived by a son, Mark D. Hand and Rosemary Sherman of Windham, CT; four daughters, Shari Sammons and her husband Dean of Rome, GA, Ellen Backhaus and her husband Thomas of Mooers Forks, NY, Marilyn Titone and her husband William of Stafford Springs, CT, and Lisa DeJesse and her husband Joseph of Eastford, CT; five grandchildren, Melissa and Jessica Paradis, Mark D. Hand, Jr., and Christine and Mary DeJesse; three great-grandchildren, Trevon, Nicole, and Sean; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by five brothers, Charles, Arnold, Alan, Carroll, and John. A calling hour will be held on Saturday, February 20, 2010 from 12-1 P.M. followed by a memorial service at 1 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be held in St. Monica Cemetery, Cary, ME at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. 1004, Meriden, CT 06450.
