Daniel D. Lee's Obituary
Daniel D. Lee, 60, of Tarrytown, NY, left this world unexpectedly on June 22, 2023.
Daniel is survived by his mother, Donna Lee; three siblings, David Lee, Jennifer Mogstad and her husband Rolf, and Robert Lee; nephews and nieces; Dominick, Drinda, Brycen and Andie; his dearest friends Rand Marshal, Debbie Evans, Joe and Rose Moralez of Tarrytown, NY, as well as aunts, uncles, cousins and many other dear friends. He is preceded in death by his father Robert Lee, and all four of his beloved grandparents.
Dan graduated from Tantasqua Regional High School in Sturbridge, MA in 1981. He enjoyed tinkering with the code logic of the first generations of Apple Macintosh computers which led him to study computer programing at Springfield Technical Community College in Springfield, MA. He had a knack for programing and rebuilding computers. He was self-educated and highly proficient in many computer programs including AutoCad. He had a unique ability to teach himself anything he wanted to learn and do, whether it was a technical application or a hands-on craft. He loved to read and collected many books. Dan was an avid outdoorsman in his younger years and spent countless hours in the woods and on the water hunting and fishing. He had many other passions; chief among them was woodworking. He loved to design and create works of functional art, turning simple blocks of wood into beautiful gunstocks, wine glass stems and knife handles to name a few. In the past few years Dan enjoyed programming and using his 3D printer. Dan worked in construction for most of his adult life initially building houses, decks, and doing interior renovations. Over the last 20 years Dan used his knowledge of construction, his computer skills, and his ability to manage projects working in lower Manhattan as a project manager on multiple construction projects. On many occasions advising architects and engineers.
Above all, Dan loved his family. When with his loved ones, he had a keen sense of humor and was always quick with a joke. He will be sorely missed by all whose lives he touched.
Dan will be honored by his close friends and immediate family in a private ceremony.
