Dave Brodrick's Obituary
Dave "3 Club" Brodrick, 69, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Friday, October 19, 2012 at his home with his family. He was born in Hartford, CT, son of the late Frank and Anna (Fafrak) Brodrick. Dave proudly served his country as a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a former employee of Aero Gear Inc. as a manual all around production machinist, prototype, and toolmaker. He also worked with engineering for the manufacture of parts for the first spacesuits at Hamilton Standard. This included housing and parts for the suit backpack too. His second home was his garage, where he fixed, repaired, and reworked anything. Known for welding, fabricating, and machining with his own Bridgeport. He strived for perfection and quality, and was willing to offer time and effort to help others with his skills and equipment. Dave lived a life filled with dignity and respect for others. He was always open for a good laugh and fun. He enjoyed animal life and the great outdoors. He said being in the woods was where he belonged. Dave also enjoyed the island and people of Frenchboro, ME, as well as fishing and lobstering; Waterville, ME was another favorite place. He enjoyed traveling here, there, and anywhere. His team was the NY Yankees. Dave was formerly a little league coach, and liked to golf when he had time, hence the nickname "3 Club". He was a member of St. Edward Parish, Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion, and the Italian Benefit Society. Above all, he cherished his wife of 43 years, Jean Brodrick. He is also survived by his three children, Jane Dobruck, Ann Bigda and her husband Alan, and Steven Brodrick and his wife Barbara; two grandsons, Nathan and Ryan Brodrick; two siblings, Vincent Brodrick and Agnes Lewis and her husband Ted; and several nieces and nephews.
