David C. Burns' Obituary
David C. Burns, 89, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Worcester, MA, son of the late Earle and Beatrice (Ingerson) Burns. Dave proudly served our country in the United States Navy, and then worked for the Metropolitan District Commission where he retired as a foreman after over 30 years of service. Dave’s favorite thing to do was going snowmobiling all over the Northeast, but especially in Island Pond, VT. Above all, he was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed being able to spend time with his family. Dave is survived by his wife of 63 years, Elizabeth (House) Burns; four children, David Burns and his wife Bonnie, Daniel Burns and his wife Hilary, Doreen Fuggetta, and Dennis Burns and his wife Debbie; and eight grandchildren, Derek, Elyse, and Karli Fuggetta, Alyson, Emily, and Jonathan Burns, and Alina and David Burns. A private service with burial in Stafford Springs Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT, will be held at the family’s convenience.
