Dolores M. Upton's Obituary
Dolores M. Upton, 87, of Ashford, CT, beloved wife of the late Almond A. “Uppie” Upton, Jr., passed away in the home that she loved with her family by her side on Wednesday, November 8, 2017. She was born in Stafford Springs, CT, daughter of the late Domerico and Catherine (Bresson) Piccoli. Dolores was proud of her Italian heritage and her roots. She was a generous and loving soul full of life and vigor! Family always came first and she provided her family with warmth, love, and a beautiful home to gather. She was known for her home cooked Sunday dinners that she would prepare from start to finish complete with her famous desserts. Holidays were always memorable with her in charge, and she did it with a smile and twinkle in her eye. Dolores loved the outdoors and nature, and was very proud of the fact that she cared for her lawn and flower gardens including her leaf clean up each fall that turned into fun for her grandchildren. Dolores had an affinity for things old and owned Lone Birch Antiques with her late husband, Uppie. They so enjoyed their buying trips and shows, and all the people they would meet along the way. Dolores’s unique spirit will be missed by all who were so fortunate to know her. The family would like to thank her caregiver, Shirley, and Hartford Healthcare at Home for providing loving care. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Duval; son, Allie Upton and his wife Judy; grandchildren, Michele Beers and her husband Tim, Jason Duval and his wife Denise, Justin Duval and his wife Katie, and Michael Upton; great grandchildren, Olivia, Lily, Julia, Amanda, Christian, Gerry, Charlie, Remi, and Henri, who she so enjoyed watching grow; sister-in-law, Belva Piccoli; and many beloved nieces and nephews, including Susan Lane, Donna Simlick, and Robert and Rhonda Piccoli. She was predeceased by her seven siblings, Ernaldo “Toke”, Evo, Mario, Becco, Peter, Jennie, and Clara. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 9:00-10:30 A.M. with a prayer service to begin at 10:30 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Philip Cemetery, Ashford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ashford Senior Center, 25 Tremko Lane, Ashford, CT 06278.
