Donald A. Daigle's Obituary
Donald A. “Popeye” Daigle, 84, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on January 29, 2017. He was the husband of Irene (Hewett) Daigle, having celebrated their 25th anniversary this past October. Don was born in Stafford Springs, CT, the son of the late Alfred and Margaret (Theising) Daigle. Don served as a medic during the Korean Conflict, attached to the 24th Division, 21st medical unit. Upon returning from the war, he worked at Hamilton Standard and in later years was employed in the construction industry. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and good books. Don is survived by his wife Irene, with whom he enjoyed day trips to the casino, dining out and Sundays at the Holland Rod & Gun Club, where he was a member for 50 years. Don is survived by his daughter, Lee Ann Daigle, sons, Donald and his wife Pam and Steven Daigle. Also his step-children, Pam Bergeron and husband Leo, Paula Dupre and husband Ron, Barry Bruce, Leigh Newton, Kim Bard and husband Brian, Marla Bartholomew and husband Steve and Harry Bruce. Also, his sister-in-law, Joy Daigle and brother-in-law, John Sibley, and many nieces and nephews. Don was blessed with his grandchildren, Jacob, Kaitlin and Zachary, and great-grandchildren Lilly and Noah. He shared many memories and moments with his step-grandchildren, Tara, Tate, Nicole, Audra, Kimberly, Bethany, Allison, Leigh Anne, Heather, Moriah, Ashley, Cameron, Jessica, Ian, Rian and a very special relationship with Heidi. Also his great-grands, Miranda, Michela, Nathan, Alyssa, Hannah, Ethan, Jared, Matthew, Kiernan, Kyle, Colton, Cody, Jonathan, Austin, Mackenzie, Taj, Ivy, Isys, Hailey, Aubrey, Landen, Ariana, Riley and his great-great grand, Lily. Family events always kept him laughing. Don was predeceased by his sister Corinne Sibley and his brothers, John, William and Alfred Daigle. A memorial service will be held in the Spring at the convenience of the family. Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., Stafford Springs, CT, has care of the arrangements.
