Donald J. McCue's Obituary
Donald J. McCue, 78, of Ashford, CT, went to be with his beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, June 27, 2020. He was born in Greenwich, CT, son of the late Joseph Donald and Mary (Turek) McCue. Don entered the cutting edge field of computer science as a young man and enjoyed a fulfilling career as a systems analyst at the Hartford Insurance Group. Since retiring he has enjoyed spending time with his family including his 13 grandchildren, playing golf and relaxing with a good cigar. He was an avid sports fan and loved the New York teams he grew up with. Throughout his life he drew comfort, strength and courage from the Bible and his relationship with the Lord. He made sure to pass this legacy on to his family and friends as he also taught a men's Bible study for many years. Don is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Helen (Ferguson) McCue; five children, Candace Greer and her husband William, Jennifer McCue, Rev. Patrick McCue and his wife Rachel, Casey McCue and his wife Rachel, and Caroline Knowlton and her husband Isaac; 13 grandchildren, Maxwell, Oliver, Cole, Israel, Ezekiel, Eve, Asa, Judah, Emmeline, Owen, Adeline, Levi, and Jasper; sister, Jane Kokoska; brother, Thomas McCue and his wife Ann; and many nieces and nephews. An outdoor memorial service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. at the Living Proof Church, 38 Pompey Hollow Rd., Ashford, CT. Please bring your own lawn chair.
