Hey Nana 💕 today I have a heavy heart as everyone gathers to say their goodbyes, and I'm sorry Im not there to say mine. Honestly though, I'm so grateful I got to see you a few times before I left. You were sassy as ever, honest to the bone, and still cracking jokes in the hospital bed.. man I'm glad you're out of there.. I wish I had told you how much I appreciate these things about you, your shit talking, your unwavering boundaries and your strong sense of self. Ive found myself trying to grow in these ways, thinking of you as a guide, and just as I began to understand, you're gone. But I smile, cuz I can almost hear what you'd say and how you'd laugh even this off. Thank you, Nana, for always being yourself, so strongly and so boldly, no matter what anyone thought. I will miss you but I'll be thinking of you. Cuddle up with Sammie and rest easy. Xoxoxo
