Doris Charter

Doris was a valuable and beloved member of P.E.O. Chapter X, Connecticut. She had served as Treasurer and Auditor. You could always count on her to keep accurate financial records. She told Chapter X of her visit to Cottey Vacation College with great enthusiasm. We shall miss her. Doris brought her cousin Margery to a couple of our meetings, which was a special treat! Rest on peace, Doris. Many thanks to her nephew David for his help in her final years.

It was a joy to be able to be with Doris and help her as I could. Many great visits and chats about church, teaching, and family.she had a wonderful smile and I still hear her laugh when she delighted in things. It was sad as her illness progressed and her life changed, but she is at peace now and has no more struggles. She will be missed dearly

We are saddened to hear of Doris's passing to her eternal life in Heaven. Having become friends with Doris through church much time was spent with her recalling experiences during the years of teaching and her fond memories of growing up with her family. Doris always had an interesting conversation as we ran errands together when she needed assistance. Her independence and her strategies to manage her life always was amazing. Doris was a joy to know and an inspiration. May God give her peace in her everlasting life.
