Dorothea J. Daggett's Obituary
Dorothea J. Daggett, 94, of Stafford Springs, CT, wife of the late David A. Daggett, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Evergreen Health Care Center. She was born in Flushing, Long Island, NY, daughter of the late John and Nora (Houlahan) McCloskey. Dorothea served in the United States Navy during World War II holding the rank of Yeoman Second Class. She was employed until retirement as a medical transcriptionist. She loved to travel, and did so extensively (Florida, Alaska, Canada, and Ireland), and was a 65 year member of the Strazza, Tonoli-Emhoff Post No. 26 American Legion, where she served as Adjutant (1964- 1966), Service Officer, and Chaplain. Dorothea is survived by her six children, Kenneth Daggett, Jane DaDalt and her husband Paul, Patricia Carr and her husband Larry, Brian Daggett, Denise Daggett and her husband Tom Lanners, and Jeremy Daggett; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Ann Daggett; and her six siblings. Funeral services with burial at the American Legion Post No. 26 monument will take place at a later date.
