Dorothy J. Bednar's Obituary
Dorothy J. Bednar, 78, of Enfield, CT, wife of the late Stephen J. Bednar, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2016. She was born in Hammond, IN, daughter of the late Andrew and Emma (Tomaska) Drevyanko. Dorothy worked as a nurses aid at St. Joseph’s Residence in Enfield, CT for many years. She was a member of Holy Family Church and Women’s Guild. Dorothy’s hobbies included bowling, playing bingo, and going to the casino. The family would like to thank the staffs at Johnson Memorial Hospital and Evergreen Health Care Center, and an extra special thanks to Becky, Gladys, Rose, and “Dr. Mary”, for all the personal care they gave to Dorothy. She is survived by her two children, Richard Bednar and his wife Brenda of Stafford Springs, CT, and Paula Bednar of Enfield, CT; grandson, Stephen Bednar; sister-in-law, Judith Elieff; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Michael Bednar; and sister, Ann Strbjak. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 10 A.M. - 12 P.M. with a funeral service to take place at 12 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will be held privately at St. Patrick King Street Cemetery, Enfield, CT.
