Edward Galica,'s Obituary
Edward J. Galica, Sr., 76, of Leonard Rd., Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2007 at his home. He was born in Stafford Springs, CT, son of the late Jon and Sophie (Naglak) Galica. Ed was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Korean Conflict. He retired as a general contractor from Egal Construction. He was a member of St. Edward Parish, V.F.W. Post No. 9990 of Stafford, and the Korean War Veterans. Ed is survived by his former wife, Charlotte R. Galica of Manchester; nine children, Sheryl Quinn of Sarasota, FL, Lorraine Hooper of Stafford Springs, CT, Connie Cartisano of Mansfield, NJ, Kathleen Devine of Sarasota, FL, Edward J. Galica, Jr. of Stafford Springs, CT, Stephen P. Galica of Albuquerque, NM, James F. Galica of Stafford Springs, CT, Kelley Galica-Peck of Manchester, CT, and Matthew J. Galica of Louisville, KY; 29 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a brother, Frank Galica of Stafford Springs, CT; two sisters, Anna Vierra and Rosalie Harrington of Rhode Island; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by five brothers and five sisters. A funeral will be held on Friday, May 18, 2007 with a procession forming at 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Thursday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
