Edward R. Grant Jr.'s Obituary
Edward R. Grant, Jr., 73, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Boston, MA, son of the late Edward R. and Mary J. (Kopp) Grant. Ed served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He was formerly employed by American Medical Response as a paramedic. Ed was highly respected as a paramedic and took great pride in doing his job. He was a teacher and mentor to many co-workers along the way. He was also a true “Jack of all trades”. Hobbies he enjoyed the most were woodworking and fishing. He was also a former Chief of the Stafford Springs Fire Department. Ed is survived by his loving wife of 32, years, Kathleen (Cockerham) Grant; six children and their spouses, Lora and Thomas Fortuna, Karen and Raymond Phillips, Scott and Michiko Grant, Leah and Patrick Polowichak, Linda Bassett and her fiancé Dan Diaz, and Jennifer Champagne and her husband Jim; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Hurd and her husband Wallace; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Lisa Taft; brother, Ronald Grant; and sister, Donna Laquaglia. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2017 from 2-4 P.M. with Military Honors to take place at 4 P.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT.
