Edward Anthony Krapf, Sr., 84, of Stafford, CT, passed away at his home on Sunday, August 21, 2016. He was born in Willimantic, CT to the late Anthony and Gertrude (Fein) Krapf. He leaves behind two daughters, Janet Lewis and her husband Gordon and Kathleen Kral and her husband Frederick; a son, Edward Anthony Krapf, Jr. and his wife Carrie (Plourde); a sister, Geraldine Jones; a brother, Robert Krapf; 13 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two daughters, Jeanne Krapf and Joane Quinlan; two brothers, Joseph and Henry; and a sister, Magdeline Balazs. He was a loving, hardworking, gentle, honest man whose handshake was as good as a signed contract. He attended Windham Technical High School and later joined the United States Air Force and served during the Korean Conflict. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Ashford and worked on the family dairy farm. He later became a dairy inspector with the Connecticut Department of Agriculture, from which he retired in 1990. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed his Friday night poker games with friends. He loved to be outdoors either walking or tending his gardens. He also enjoyed fishing and hunting. But, he mostly enjoyed his annual summer family picnic and getting together at Christmas time, where all he wanted was chocolate and nuts. Edward was a one-of-a-kind man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. His family will gather for a private celebration of his life. Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., Stafford Springs, CT, has care of the arrangements. For online condolences, please visit: www.introvignefuneralhome.com
