Edward W. Niemitz's Obituary
Edward W. Niemitz, 88, of Stafford Springs, CT, husband of the late Margaret A. (Passardi) Niemitz, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Evergreen Health Care Center. He was born in Rockville, CT, son of the late Thaddeus and Mary (Winiarski) Niemitz. Ed was employed as a maintenance worker at the former Dricore Corporation in Staffordville. He enjoyed gardening, working on cars, and race cars, back when Stafford Motor Speedway was a dirt track, and riding his motorcycle. He was very mechanical and could fix anything. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Ed is survived by his two children, Edward A. Niemitz and his wife Alarae, and Nancy L. Case; great grandson, Skyler Bernache; sister, Rita Foreman; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his granddaughter, Lisa Bernache; and his brother, Thaddeus Niemitz. His funeral service will be held on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Sunday from 2-4 P.M. at the funeral home.
