Eileen M. Wieting's Obituary
Eileen Marie (Wiley) Wieting, born October 20, 1948 in Springfield, MA to Eleanor Charlotte (Stone) and George Frederick Wiley, passed peacefully February 13, 2021 in Stafford, CT. She was raised in Somers, CT with her brothers, Wayne and Jim. Eileen graduated from Becker Junior College in 1968, and married Wilfred Wieting in 1969. She was blessed with two children, Scott and Amy and raised them in Stafford, CT. Eileen was an adventurer who enjoyed experiencing life with her children right beside her. She had friendships all around the world through her faithful pen pal letters, most enduring half a century of years. She loved sailing on the tall ships, traveling across the pond, hiking and dancing, folk and country music, animals, gardening and her books. Eileen leaves behind her son, Scott Wieting and wife Mandy; her daughter, Amy and husband Rick Hartenstein; granddaughter, Katelyn Hartenstein; cousin, Jennifer Rose; and nieces Danielle Wiley and Michelle Wiley; along with many other family and friends. She was predeceased by her two brothers, Wayne and Jim Wiley. A celebration of life will take place in the warmer months this coming summer.
