Elda T. Bruce's Obituary
Elda T. Bruce, 96, of Stafford Springs, CT, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Johnson Memorial Hospital. She was born in Mystic, CT, daughter of the late Valentino and Elizabeth (Campo) Fontanella. Elda retired from Johnson Memorial Hospital as a kitchen worker, and was a member of St. Edward Parish. Elda enjoyed playing bingo for many years, knitting, walking each morning with her sister-in-law Paula Fontanella and time with extended family at all the Fontanella picnics and Christmas parties each year. Loving known by most as Nonie, Elda is survived by her twin brother, Aldo “Tracy” Fontanella; four grandchildren, Trieste Philbrook and her husband Mathew, Tiffany Maxim, Michael Zimmerman and his wife Karen, and Mark Zimmerman and his wife Terry; seven great grandchildren, Amy, Adam, Alex, Branden and his wife Sarah, Travis, Ava, and Reese; two great, great grandchildren, Ciara and Bentley; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two daughters, Joyce Zimmerman and Jean Ramponi; four brothers; and three sisters. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2015, with a procession forming by 9 A.M. at Introvigne Funeral Home, Inc., 51 East Main St., Stafford Springs, CT, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 A.M. at St. Edward Church, High St., Stafford Springs, CT. Burial will follow in St. Edward Cemetery, Stafford Springs, CT. Calling hours are on Wednesday from 5-7 P.M. at the funeral home.
